IPL 2025 Final Venue Announced

New Delhi: The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is set to host the final match of the 2025 Indian Premier League on June 3, according to recent reports.

As per Cricbuzz, Ahmedabad will also be the venue for Qualifier 2 on June 1, while Mullanpur in New Chandigarh is slated to hold the first two playoff matches—Qualifier 1 on May 29 and the Eliminator on May 30. This decision follows a series of high-level discussions by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The adjustments to the schedule and venues were largely influenced by the impending rainy season and a recent week-long suspension of the tournament due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

The league faced a temporary halt on May 9 and resumed on May 17. Consequently, the final, which was initially set for May 25, has been postponed to June 3.

This will mark the third occasion that the Narendra Modi Stadium, recognized as the largest cricket stadium globally, will host an IPL final. The venue previously held finals in 2022 and 2023. Notably, during the Gujarat Titans' inaugural season in 2022, Ahmedabad was limited to just two matches due to COVID-19 restrictions—Qualifier 2 and the final. The Titans emerged victorious that year, and the stadium retained the final for 2023.

Given the monsoon season affecting various regions of the country in late May, the board opted for cities known for their historically drier weather to ensure smooth knockout matches.

Currently, three teams have secured their playoff spots: Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Punjab Kings. The final playoff position is still contested, with Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals in a tight race for qualification.
