Police Begin Inquiry into Threat Against Minister
Authorities have initiated an investigation into a threat made against Om Prakash Rajbhar, the president of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) and the Panchayati Raj Minister of Uttar Pradesh, who is part of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA). A senior police official confirmed the commencement of the inquiry on Monday.
Arun Rajbhar, the national spokesperson for SBSP and son of Om Prakash Rajbhar, reported on social media platform X that his father received a death threat via Facebook.
In his post, Arun stated, "A Facebook account named Karni Sena Ballia has issued a threat to shoot SBSP leader and Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar. Immediate action should be taken against such unruly elements." Following this alarming post, police have become actively involved.
Ballia's Superintendent of Police (SP) Omveer Singh informed a news agency on Monday that the matter has come to their attention. The SP emphasized that the police cyber cell has been assigned to investigate the case thoroughly. He assured that necessary legal actions would follow based on the investigation's findings.
