Investigation Launched into Alleged Question Paper Leak at Odisha Medical College

Inquiry Initiated Over Viral Exam Paper Images

A five-member committee at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, Odisha, has commenced an investigation into the alleged circulation of question paper images on social media during the Odisha Medical Postgraduate Examination. Officials disclosed this information on Friday.

According to reports, on July 27, while a subject examination was being conducted for the postgraduate students of the 2023-26 batch, images of the 'Odisha Medical Postgraduate Examination' question paper were reportedly shared on social media platforms.

Harekrsihna Dalai, the Dean and Principal of MKCG Medical College and Hospital, informed a news agency, 'A five-member committee was formed on Thursday evening under the chairmanship of the college superintendent. The committee has already begun its investigation and is expected to submit its report within 72 hours.'

Dalai mentioned that the committee will look into the allegations, including whether the question paper was leaked from the examination hall of MKCG Medical College, how it occurred, and who was involved.

He added, 'The committee will provide necessary recommendations to prevent such incidents from happening again.' Previously, Dalai stated that the incident could not be termed a 'leak' since the images surfaced during the examination.

Officials noted that images of the second question paper for General Surgery in the MS/MD course for the 2023-26 batch were allegedly shared in a WhatsApp group created by some postgraduate students. There are also claims that answers were circulated via certain phone numbers during the exam.

This issue came to light when a student from a private medical college in Bhubaneswar, who reportedly had the question paper images, raised the matter, claiming that he received these images through a WhatsApp group created by a student from MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
