Ongoing Search for Nancy Guthrie

The search for Nancy Guthrie, mother of Savannah Guthrie, has now reached its fifth week, with investigators actively seeking new leads in what is suspected to be an abduction case. In Tucson, Arizona, authorities have begun inquiring with local residents about any unusual internet disruptions that may have occurred on the night the 84-year-old went missing.

As reported by a local news outlet, Liz Kreutz mentioned that investigators have been visiting homes in Nancy Guthrie’s neighborhood to gather information regarding potential internet issues on the night she disappeared. Several residents reported that officers asked if they experienced any internet connectivity problems during that time.

Kreutz shared insights from three homeowners who recounted the investigators' inquiries. “They mentioned that multiple individuals in the area reported internet glitches that night,” Kreutz stated during a broadcast.

However, authorities have not confirmed whether these internet disruptions are part of the ongoing investigation. The Pima County Sheriff's Department and the FBI have yet to release any statements regarding the possibility that a device, such as a Wi-Fi jammer, may have interfered with local security systems.

Could Internet Disruptions Be Linked To Suspected Abduction?

Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage and other digital evidence from the night of Nancy Guthrie's disappearance. Officials reported that a masked individual was captured on the doorbell camera outside her residence shortly before her suspected abduction.

Chris Nanos stated that investigators have scrutinized all available video recordings from the neighborhood, as noted in a report. The footage depicts a man standing at Guthrie’s front door, seemingly tampering with the doorbell camera.

Authorities suspect that the individual may have attempted to disable or disrupt the home’s surveillance system. However, it remains unconfirmed whether the internet disruptions reported by neighbors played any role in this incident.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31, prompting a significant search effort that involved both local law enforcement and federal agents. The investigation also examined physical evidence discovered near the location, including black gloves found approximately two miles from Guthrie’s home in the Catalina Foothills, which initially attracted investigators' attention.

Subsequent laboratory testing revealed that the gloves belonged to a restaurant worker with no ties to the case. Officials have indicated that further DNA testing on additional evidence is ongoing.
