Official Findings on Jubin Garg's Death

The Singapore police have officially completed their investigation into the death of Assamese singer Jubin Garg, ruling out any foul play and confirming that it was an accidental drowning. According to the official inquiry, the incident occurred on September 19, 2025, while Garg was on a private boat near Lazarus Island. Initially, he entered the water wearing a life jacket, but after returning to the boat, he removed it. Despite being offered a life jacket again, he chose to re-enter the water alone without it. During his attempt to swim back, he lost consciousness. Fellow passengers quickly rescued him and began administering CPR. Emergency services, including the police and coast guard, responded promptly, transporting him to Singapore General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Post-mortem and toxicology reports indicated that drowning was the cause of death. Investigators found a high level of alcohol in his blood, sufficient to cause severe intoxication, impairing coordination and reflexes. Other substances detected were within therapeutic limits and consistent with his known medical conditions, including epilepsy and hypertension. The findings of the investigation were reviewed, and on March 25, 2026, the state coroner officially ruled the death as accidental, aligning with the police investigation. Authorities also noted that there was no evidence of any allergic or anaphylactic reactions involved in the incident. The police have urged the public to refrain from speculation that could affect the integrity of the judicial process and expressed condolences to Garg's family and fans.
