Celebrating Democracy and Culture

Jaipur recently hosted the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC-2026), which saw participation from over 60 countries, including speakers and presidents from the IPU and CPA. This significant event showcased India's democratic strength on a global platform.

Following the conference, Jaipur had the honor of welcoming distinguished guests from more than 60 nations. To highlight Rajasthan's rich culture, pride, and hospitality, a grand reception, cultural program, and banquet were organized at the Constitutional Club of Rajasthan.

As part of this prestigious event, the Rajasthali Emporium held a special handicraft exhibition titled 'Craft Art,' showcasing the traditional arts, intricate craftsmanship, and rich skills of Rajasthan.

A notable feature of the exhibition was the presence of national award-winning artisans who engaged with international delegates through live demonstrations and discussions, introducing them to the techniques, traditions, and cultural philosophies of Indian handicrafts.

Maya Thakur, the director of Rajasthali Emporium, personally guided all international and national guests through the 'Craft Art' exhibition, familiarizing them with various artisans. Under her guidance, attendees closely observed and appreciated the diverse craft forms of Rajasthan, deepening their admiration for India's cultural heritage.

The event was further elevated by the presence of dignitaries such as Governor Haribhai Bagde, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, and Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani. Their esteemed participation added historical significance to the occasion. The Assembly Speaker particularly praised the live demonstrations by artisans at the exhibition and commended the efforts to present Rajasthan's traditional handicrafts in a vibrant manner, making the event memorable.

This gathering not only reinforced the robust image of India's democracy but also served as a significant initiative to establish Rajasthan's vibrant cultural identity and handicraft traditions on the world stage.
