A comprehensive state-level initiative (Phase-II) was executed throughout the Police District of Nurpur, focusing on rigorous inspections of pharmaceutical retailers and chemist establishments. This operation encompassed all police stations and outposts within the district, with teams meticulously reviewing medical stores located in urban markets, towns, and rural settings.

The main aim of this campaign was to ensure adherence to the NDPS Act and the Drugs & Cosmetics Act. Police units, along with the Special Task Force, scrutinized drug licenses, purchase and sales records, inventory of restricted or scheduled medications, and expiration dates.

Chemists and pharmacists received clear instructions prohibiting the sale of any restricted or narcotic substances without a legitimate doctor's prescription. They were also mandated to keep transparent and current records of their inventory and sales.

During the extensive inspections, no suspicious items were discovered. All establishments were compliant, with no significant breaches of the NDPS Act or other relevant regulations.

Authorities highlighted that such surprise inspections will persist in the future to safeguard the youth from drug misuse and uphold law and order within the district.
