Police Launches Special Operation Against Illegal Mining

In a focused initiative to combat illegal mining, the Nurpur Police District has conducted thorough inspections in various locations over the last 24 hours. Raids were executed in the khads of Indora, Re, and Nurpur, targeting machinery and vehicles engaged in unlawful mining activities.


Summary of Actions Taken:



  • Indora Police Station: In the vicinity of Arni University, three tractors were penalized. Additionally, a tipper from Tanda Mor and a Poklen (L&T) machine from Beas khad were confiscated and are now subject to court proceedings.

  • Nurpur Police Station: A tractor was penalized under the Mining Act in the Nurpur bazaar area.

  • Re Police Post: During operations in the Mand Raitpur area, another tractor was penalized under the Mining Act.


Enforcement of MV Act: In conjunction with mining violations, law enforcement also cited vehicles under the Motor Vehicles Act. Tractors operating on public roads without registration plates were penalized to uphold traffic safety regulations.


The Nurpur Police District has reaffirmed its dedication to eliminating illegal mining, overloading, and the unauthorized transport of materials. This campaign will persist with ongoing vigilance in the upcoming days.
