Intensified Operations Against Terrorism in Kashmir: Security Forces Target 14 Militants

Heightened Security Measures in Kashmir
In Kashmir, security forces are actively dismantling terrorist networks, causing significant unrest among militants and their handlers in Pakistan. Reports indicate that 14 terrorists are currently on the radar of security forces, with six already neutralized. Just a day prior, three militants were killed in an encounter in Shopian, and today, security forces engaged three more in Tral. Additionally, operations to apprehend terrorists are ongoing in the Reasi and Kathua districts.
Three Militants Neutralized
In a recent encounter in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, three militants were eliminated by security forces. A police official reported that the operation was initiated following credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the Nader Tral area of Awantipora. During the search, the militants opened fire on the forces, leading to the encounter. The police confirmed that the search operation is still in progress.
Ongoing Search Operations
Meanwhile, security forces have launched a search operation in a forest area of Reasi district following reports of suspicious activity. Authorities stated that a local woman reported seeing two individuals in military uniforms at her home asking for water. After drinking, they mentioned returning to their 'camp' before leaving. A joint search operation is underway, supported by aerial assistance, to ensure security in the area. Continuous search efforts are also being conducted in Kathua district.
Army Chief's Visit
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi visited forward areas in Baramulla district today, commending soldiers for maintaining dominance along the Line of Control during 'Operation Sindoor.' He urged troops to be prepared to respond decisively to any challenges. The army's post on social media highlighted his visit to the Dagger Division of the Chinar Corps, where he praised the soldiers' courage and vigilance.
Defense Minister's Assessment
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the overall security landscape and military preparedness in Jammu and Kashmir today. He remarked that 'Operation Sindoor' has struck a blow to Pakistan, which can only be remedied by ceasing its support for terrorism. This visit marks Singh's first to the Union Territory following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which prompted the operation. He emphasized that while India does not seek war, it will respond if its sovereignty is threatened.
Review of Security Situation
A senior military officer also assessed the security situation near the Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch districts. The General Officer Commanding of the White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P.K. Mishra, visited Narayan and Zarran Wali Gali in Rajouri, along with Major General Manish Gupta, to review the current security status. The White Knight Corps acknowledged the soldiers' courage and professionalism in combating terrorism and ensuring peace in the region.

In related news, Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma, Commander of the Northern Command, briefed Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Umar Abdullah on the current security situation and recent developments along the Line of Control and other border areas. Abdullah shared on his official social media account that he was informed about the situation by the Northern Command's General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, along with Lieutenant General Prashant Srivastava from the 15th Corps. He commended the security forces for their commendable work in defending the nation.
