Intensified Anti-Terror Operations in Jammu Amid Foggy Conditions
Heightened Security Measures in Jammu Region
Security forces have ramped up their anti-terrorism efforts in the Jammu area following intelligence reports suggesting a potential infiltration attempt by terrorists due to the dense fog, officials confirmed on Saturday.
Operations involving police, Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Army units are currently taking place at various sites near the International Border (IB) in the districts of Kathua, Samba, Jammu, and Rajouri, as well as in the Chatroo forest area of Kishtwar.
Recent intelligence has indicated suspicious movements of terrorists at launch pads along the border near Hiranagar, Ghagwal, Ramgarh, and Akhnoor in the Kathua-Samba-Jammu sector over the last couple of days.
In response to the threat of infiltration, search and cordon operations are being conducted in several locations, including Bobiya border outpost, Tappan, Mareed, Paharpur, Pansar, Maniyari, Tarnah Nallah, Bein Nallah, Kishanpur Kandi, Chak Chabbey, Dolka Samyal, and Rukh-e-Sarkar in Kathua.
Additionally, security personnel are actively searching areas such as Babar Nallah, Paloora, Treyal, Mansar, and Chilla Danga in Samba, along with Pragwal and nearby regions in the Akhnoor sector.
Officials noted that these searches are also aimed at establishing area dominance, especially given the challenging weather conditions and heavy fog.
In Rajouri district, security forces have intensified their search operations to prevent any terrorist infiltration, with reports indicating the recovery of four grenades during a combing operation on Friday.
In Kishtwar, searches have been ongoing in over a dozen forest villages for the second consecutive day after local residents reported suspicious activities.
As of now, there has been no contact with any suspects, and the anti-terror operation continues as per the latest updates.
