Security Forces Prepare for Final Assault
In Jammu, security personnel are gearing up for a decisive operation against two terrorists from Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) who are currently barricaded in a cave located in the Udhampur district. Officials reported that there was no gunfire overnight as preparations intensified for the final assault.
The terrorists were discovered by a collaborative search team comprising the Army, police, and CRPF in the Jaffer forest area of Ramnagar around 4 PM on Tuesday, which led to a fierce gunfight lasting over an hour.
During the confrontation, one terrorist sustained injuries but managed to retreat into the cave with his partner.
Later, around 7:30 PM, the area was shaken by renewed gunfire and loud explosions as the terrorists attempted to escape under the cover of night. In response, the Army deployed reinforcements, including paratroopers and canine units, to strengthen the perimeter.
The night passed without any further exchanges of fire, with security forces maintaining strict surveillance around the cave, utilizing drones for monitoring. Officials indicated that plans are in place to launch a final offensive to flush out the terrorists who have refused to surrender.
