Inspiring Student Overcomes Tragedy to Achieve Academic Excellence
A Remarkable Journey Amidst Adversity
In Una, Himachal Pradesh, a 12th-grade student faced an unimaginable tragedy while taking her board exams—her father passed away due to illness. Despite this profound loss, Mahak displayed incredible resilience and managed to focus on her studies, ultimately achieving an impressive score of 97.2 percent.
Mahak, a student at St. D.R. Public Senior Secondary School in Gagret, saw her father, Nasib Kumar, hospitalized due to health issues. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his illness in March at the age of 49.
Even in the face of such sorrow, Mahak remained dedicated to her education. Coming from a family of educators, her mother, Gurdev Kaur, is a TGT teacher in arts, her uncle, Sanjeev Kumar, works as a lecturer, and her aunt, Meena Kumari, serves as a principal at a school. Mahak's younger brother is currently in the ninth grade. As a science student, Mahak aspires to pursue a B.Sc. and eventually become a teacher.
