About Padma Shri Janak Palta Magilligan
Dr. Janak Palta Magilligan is the founder of the Jimmy Magilligan Center for Sustainable Development and a distinguished social activist. She has received numerous awards for her contributions to rural and tribal women's empowerment, environmental conservation, and literacy, including the Outstanding Woman Social Worker Award in 2001, the Women Social Worker Honor in 2005, the Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Social Service Award from the Madhya Pradesh government in 2008, and the Lakshmi Menon Literacy Award in 2010.
