During an inspiring session, Renu Sharma, an officer of the Himachal Police Service (HPS), engaged with students at the Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Nurpur as part of the Udaan career counseling initiative. This event was organized in collaboration with Aarni University-Kangra, focusing on education, career guidance, and personal development.



Renu Sharma, who joined the HPS in 2010 and currently serves as the Additional Superintendent of Police for the Anti-Narcotics Task Force in Kangra, shared her journey in law enforcement. She holds an MPhil in Physics from Himachal Pradesh University and completed her schooling and undergraduate studies at Government Senior Secondary School and Government College in Hamirpur.



Her previous roles include Assistant Commandant of the First Indian Reserve Battalion in Una, Sub-Divisional Police Officer in Dehra, Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ) in Hamirpur, and Additional SP at the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau in Hamirpur.



While addressing the students, Renu Sharma highlighted the importance of discipline, perseverance, and ethical behavior as essential elements for achieving success. She encouraged them to stay dedicated to their education, explore various career paths, and establish a strong value system. “Education transcends mere grades; it is about nurturing character, courage, and consistency,” she stated.



Renu Sharma praised the Udaan initiative by Aarni University and expressed gratitude to the principal of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Nurpur, for facilitating the event. “The Udaan initiative aims to connect students' aspirations with available opportunities, especially for those in semi-urban and remote areas of Himachal Pradesh,” she remarked.



The event commenced with a traditional welcome, where Renu Sharma was presented with a shawl and cap. Sunil Chadha, the Executive Editor, introduced the Udaan initiative, while a counselor from Aarni University provided insights into career options and skill enhancement. The school principal expressed appreciation to all participants and guests for their contributions to student development.



Students actively participated, asking questions about competitive exams, leadership skills, and career decisions. Teachers and organizers described the session as highly motivating, emphasizing the impact of real-life role models on young minds.



The program concluded with a vote of thanks from the school principal, wrapping up an inspiring and informative session.
