The Unspoken Aspects of the Ramayana

While many parts of the Ramayana are well-known, some remain unexplored. One significant section describes Lord Rama's insights into the Kali Yuga.

The Ramayana is revered as one of the most sacred texts in Hinduism. Every Hindu is familiar with the birth story of Lord Rama, who was born in the Satya Yuga. In this era, Lord Rama upheld truth and righteousness, ultimately defeating Ravana to rescue his wife, Sita.

The Battle of Good vs. Evil

The conflict between Rama and Ravana is celebrated as a triumph of good over evil. Today, we delve into a particular incident from the Ramayana.

Once, Sita inquired of Lord Rama about the arrival of the Kali Yuga. Lord Rama had previously blessed Vaishno Devi, stating that he would return at the end of the Kali Yuga to eliminate all demons and wrongdoers.

Lord Rama's Prophecies

Understanding Sita's curiosity, Lord Rama explained, 'In the Kali Yuga, people will be drawn towards evil, and trust in truth and honesty will diminish. Individuals will engage in wrongful deeds, and lust will become the greatest sin. Corrupt and cruel individuals will lead lives of luxury, while those consumed by lust will become influential figures, similar to Baba Ram Rahim. Due to the dominance of adharma, virtuous souls will suffer, and respect for women and girls will vanish. The law will only serve the wealthy, and material comfort will overshadow spiritual devotion. Children will abandon their parents, and sacred institutions like marriage will lose significance. Disrespect towards parents, teachers, and elders will rise, and violence and terrorism will escalate. Water will become the most precious resource on Earth.'

Reflections on Today's Society

Many may find resonance with Lord Rama's observations about the Kali Yuga. We are witnessing these very issues today. Children are sending their elderly parents to old age homes, and countless women fall victim to violence daily. Lust has become a primary need, with even children being exploited to fulfill it.

The truths spoken by Lord Rama seem to have manifested in our reality. It appears that the end of the Kali Yuga is approaching, and this era may soon become a part of history. According to scriptures, Lord Vishnu will incarnate as Kalki at the end of the Kali Yuga. Many await this divine incarnation, and given the increasing atrocities against the helpless and impoverished, it seems that the end is imminent, which would be for the greater good.
