Understanding the Unspoken Aspects of the Ramayana

The Ramayana, revered as one of the most sacred texts, contains elements that remain largely unexplored. Among these is a segment where Lord Rama describes the characteristics of Kali Yuga.

Every Hindu is familiar with the life story of Lord Rama, who was born in the Satya Yuga. During this era, he upheld truth and righteousness, ultimately defeating Ravana to rescue Sita.

The battle between Rama and Ravana is celebrated as a triumph of good over evil. Today, we delve into a particular incident from the Ramayana.

Once, Sita inquired of Lord Rama about the arrival of Kali Yuga. Lord Rama had previously blessed Vaishno Devi, stating that he would manifest at the end of Kali Yuga to eradicate all demons and wrongdoers. Sita repeatedly posed such questions to Lord Rama.

In response to Sita's curiosity, Lord Rama explained:

As Kali Yuga approaches, people will be drawn towards evil, losing faith in truth and integrity. Individuals will engage in sinful actions, with lust becoming the greatest vice. Corrupt and cruel individuals will lead lives of luxury, while those consumed by desire will become influential figures, akin to Baba Ram Rahim. The prevalence of injustice will cause suffering for virtuous souls. Respect for women and girls will diminish, and the law will only serve the wealthy. Material comfort will overshadow spiritual devotion, leading children to abandon their parents in old age. The sanctity of marriage will be disregarded, and disrespect towards parents, teachers, and mentors will rise. Mass killings and terrorism will escalate, and water will become the most precious resource on Earth.

Many may find resonance with Lord Rama's observations about Kali Yuga. Indeed, we are witnessing these phenomena today. Children are sending their parents to old age homes, and countless women fall victim to violence daily. Lust has become a primary need, with even children being exploited to fulfill it.

The truths articulated by Lord Rama have manifested in our reality. It appears that the end of Kali Yuga is imminent, potentially marking its transition into history. According to scriptures, Lord Vishnu will incarnate as Kalki at the conclusion of Kali Yuga. There is a collective anticipation for this divine manifestation, especially as atrocities against the vulnerable and impoverished continue to rise, suggesting that the end of this era should come soon for the greater good.
