A bald eagle, believed to be Jackie, a prominent female featured on the Big Bear live nest camera, was rescued near Big Bear Lake following a confrontation with two other eagles. The San Dimas Raptor Rescue team, under the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, conducted the rescue early Saturday and transported the eagle to a wildlife rehabilitation center for medical attention. Specifics regarding the eagle's health have not yet been disclosed.

Friends of Big Bear Valley reported that the injured eagle was spotted near Dana Point Park on July 16 and 17 before engaging in a ground fight with two younger bald eagles. A cellphone video captured the adult eagle defending itself by flipping over and using its talons, but it struggled to fly afterward.

Initially, the nonprofit organization could not confirm the eagle's identity since Jackie is not banded and had not been seen at her nest with her mate, Shadow, for several days. However, after examining new rescue images, they now believe the eagle is likely Jackie. Friends of Big Bear Valley stated, "We believe it could be our Jackie," and assured that the eagle is receiving expert care, promising to provide updates as more information becomes available.

Recent footage from the live nest camera has shown Shadow alone at the nest with their two juvenile eaglets, Sandy and Luna. The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation has reiterated that the eagle's identity and sex have not been officially verified and has requested the public to refrain from speculation while the bird is under professional care.
