Srinagar: An IndiGo plane encountered a pole supporting the Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) display and its related sensors while parking at Srinagar Airport on Friday morning, according to officials.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:02 AM when flight 6E 225 (VT-NOG), traveling from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar, made contact with the VDGS pole while maneuvering into Bay No. 06.

Srinagar Airport Authorities confirmed that all passengers and crew were unharmed, and no injuries were reported. Passengers were safely deboarded using manual stairs.

Officials indicated that the circumstances surrounding the incident will be investigated by the relevant authorities as per standard procedures. The precise cause will be determined after the inquiry is completed, and no conclusions are being drawn at this time.

In the meantime, airport operations are proceeding normally, with flights arriving and departing on schedule.

This incident follows another recent occurrence where an IndiGo flight from Doha to Bengaluru was diverted to Muscat after the pilot reported feeling unwell and required urgent medical assistance.

The pilot of Flight 6E 1302 received medical attention upon landing in Muscat, was taken to a hospital, and is now reported to be in good health.

IndiGo arranged for a replacement aircraft from Bengaluru to Muscat and provided a new crew for passengers to continue their journey.

The airline stated that the diversion was due to the urgent medical needs of one of the crew members, who is now recovering. Passengers waiting in Muscat were offered refreshments and regular updates.
