Mumbai: An IndiGo flight traveling from Kuwait to Hyderabad was forced to make an emergency landing in Mumbai on Tuesday due to a bomb threat, according to sources.
The flight, designated as 6E1234 and operated by an Airbus A321neo, successfully landed at 7:45 AM.
A full emergency protocol was activated for flight 6E1234 after a bomb threat email was received at Hyderabad airport around 6:33 AM on Tuesday.
A Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was convened at the Hyderabad airport, which determined that the threat was credible.
IndiGo released a statement indicating that they promptly notified the appropriate authorities, adhering to established safety protocols.
The airline confirmed that a security threat was reported for flight 6E1234, leading to its diversion to Mumbai, although they did not disclose the number of passengers on board.
