Rijiju commended the athletes for their outstanding display, stating that this accomplishment represents a pivotal moment for Indian sports. Record-Breaking Performance
The Union Minister highlighted the impressive medal tally, noting that the men's freestyle team achieved India's best-ever results at this competition, while the women's team also excelled with numerous gold medals. He remarked, "The Men's team secured 9 medals (4 Golds), marking India's highest-ever performance at the U23 Asian Championships, while the women's wrestling team won 10 medals (6 Golds). The Greco-Roman team also celebrated its best-ever finish with 8 medals. Congratulations to our champions for elevating India's sporting legacy!"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised the wrestlers for their historic achievements in Vietnam. He commended the athletes for their remarkable success and wished them well for future competitions.

Historic Freestyle Victory
The Indian men's freestyle wrestling team emerged as champions at the U23 Asian Wrestling Championships in Da Nang, Vietnam, clinching the Team Championship Trophy with a stellar first-place finish. India outperformed strong competitors like Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, who took second and third places, respectively.
This historic victory capped off an impressive continental campaign for the Indian contingent, which amassed a total of 27 medals, including eleven gold, seven silver, and nine bronze across Freestyle, Women's Wrestling, and Greco-Roman categories.
Individual Medal Winners
The championship-winning freestyle team concluded their campaign with nine medals: four gold, three silver, and two bronze. Akshay T Dhere (57kg) and Vicky (97kg) set the stage with their gold medals, followed by Kumar Mohit (65kg) and Chandermohan (79kg), who also achieved gold. Deepak Rathi (61kg), Punit Kumar (92kg), and Lacky (125kg) contributed silver medals, while Deepak Berwal (74kg) and Mor Sachin (82kg) secured bronze medals, rounding out the freestyle team's impressive tally.
