The Indian men's volleyball team faced a disappointing end to their Asian Games 2026 journey, suffering a 0-3 defeat to their rivals, Pakistan, in the quarterfinals held at the Aichi-Nagoya Games on Thursday. The match concluded with scores of 19-25, 23-25, and 18-25, allowing Pakistan to advance to the semifinals, as reported by ESPN.
Competitive Start but Missed Opportunities
India started strong in the first set, remaining competitive until a five-point streak from Pakistan shifted the momentum. Unable to recover, India lost the first set 25-19.
Frustration in the Second Set
The second set was particularly challenging for India. They initially led 19-16 and seemed poised to equalize the match. However, a series of critical errors allowed Pakistan to regain control, ultimately winning the set 25-23 and leaving India with no margin for error.

In the third set, India struggled to regain their footing as Pakistan maintained their dominance, sealing the match with a 25-18 victory.
Sepaktakraw Success
Earlier in the day, India celebrated success in men's sepaktakraw, defeating Vietnam 2-0 in their Group A match. This victory marked their second consecutive win, securing a spot in the semifinals and guaranteeing a medal.
Advancements in Wrestling and Judo
In wrestling, Mansi progressed to the women's 62kg quarterfinals after a decisive 6-1 victory over Kazakhstan's Irina Kuznetsova in the round of 16. Mansi, a former bronze medallist at the World Championships in the 59kg category, will compete against South Korea's Jo Su-been next.
