Strong Performance at the Championships

The Indian U-17 girls' boxing team showcased an impressive performance at the Asian Boxing U17 Championships 2026, with eight boxers reaching the finals and four securing bronze medals after the semifinals held in Tashkent. Leading the team, Rakhi (46kg) achieved a decisive RSC victory in the third round against Yating Zhang from China (CHN).


Semifinal Results Overview

In the 48kg category, Khushi Chand delivered a commanding 5:0 win over Mungunzul Altamgadasa from Mongolia (MGL). However, Mamta Murlidhar Raut faced a setback in the 52kg category, losing 0:5 to Yaxin Qiu of China (CHN). Laxmi Manjunath Lamani (54kg) also fell short, losing 1:4 to Kumriniso Muhammadova from Uzbekistan (UZB).


Navya (57kg) advanced to the finals with an RSC victory in the second round against Dagiimaa Chuluutumur of Mongolia (MGL). In the 60kg category, Ishika narrowly lost a close match 2:3 to Balym Gabitkyzy from Kazakhstan (KAZ). Diya (63kg) secured a strong first-round RSC win over Jia-En Song from Chinese Taipei (TPE).

In the 66kg category, Harnoor Kaur was defeated 0:5 by Ayaulym Ospanova from Kazakhstan (KAZ). Himanshi (70kg) triumphed with an RSC victory in the first round against Jude Habi from Jordan (JOR). Jyoti progressed in the 75kg category with an RSC win in the first round against Cheng-Hui Zou from Chinese Taipei (TPE).


Vanshika (80kg) achieved a solid 4:1 victory over Feruzabonu Kamolova from Uzbekistan (UZB). In the 80+kg category, Gurseerat Kaur secured her spot in the finals with a first-round RSC win against Xin-Ying Huang from Chinese Taipei (TPE).
