India's Strategic Strikes: Targeting Key Pakistani Air Force Bases

Precision Attacks on Pakistani Military Installations
New Delhi: In a decisive move, India has executed targeted strikes on six key Pakistan Air Force bases, including Rafiqui, Sukkur, Murid, Chunia, Chaklala, and Rahim Yar Khan, effectively neutralizing the threat of drone attacks from Pakistan, as reported by an official on Saturday.
Additionally, military sites such as a radar installation at Pasrur and the Sialkot aviation base were also included in the strikes, according to the official.
Experts in defense have highlighted that the Chaklala air base, located just 10 kilometers from Islamabad, is one of Pakistan's most critical military facilities, managing both VIP and PAF operations.
The attack on Chaklala serves as a clear message from India, indicating that even the most secure PAF assets are vulnerable to its reach. This strike also acts as a deterrent against potential transport missions and aerial refueling operations from this base, which played significant roles during the 1965 and 1971 conflicts.
To disable Pakistan's drone launch capabilities at the Murid airbase in Chakwal, the Indian Air Force deployed missiles on Friday night targeting facilities that had been utilized by the PAF for launching numerous combat drones in recent days.
The PAF squadrons stationed here are trained to operate drones such as the Shahpar-2 and Bayraktar TB2, and the destruction of this facility is expected to hinder the PAF's future drone operations against India.
The Sukkur airbase, located in the Jamshoro district of Sindh, is recognized as the most advanced among PAF assets, serving as a base for F-16, JF-17 jets, and the SAAB 2000 Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEW&CS).
Rafiqui airbase in Shorkot, Jhang district, hosts fighter aircraft including JF-17, Mirage, and combat helicopters, while the Chunian airbase, situated about 70 kilometers from Lahore, also accommodates JF-17 and Mirage jets.
The Rahim Yar Khan airbase in southern Punjab is crucial for the PAF's operations directed at the Indian state of Rajasthan.
During a media briefing on Operation Sindoor, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh stated that "India ensured minimal collateral damage while executing these responses."
These precision strikes on Pakistani military targets were part of Operation Sindoor, initiated on Wednesday in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in 26 fatalities.
The operation's objective is to dismantle terrorist infrastructure within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), with an emphasis on preventing military escalation.
