India's Shooting Team Wins Silver at Asian Games 2026

Men's Team Achieves Silver Medal

On Monday, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya praised the shooting team of Rudrankksh Patil, Parth Rakesh Mane, and Himanshu Dhillon for clinching a silver medal in the men's 10 m air rifle team event at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

The Indian team secured the silver with a total score of 1890.1, falling short of China's first-place score of 1899.0. South Korea took home the bronze medal with a score of 1841.4. This achievement marks India's third silver medal in shooting at the ongoing Asian Games.

Individual Performances

During the men's 10 m air rifle individual qualifying round, which also served as the team final, Rudrankksh finished third with a score of 631.8, while Himanshu placed seventh with 630.0. Parth scored 628.3, finishing in 11th place. Both Rudrankksh and Himanshu advanced to the individual finals, contributing to the team's silver-winning score of 1890.1.

Strong Start for Indian Shooting

Earlier, on Sunday, the women's 10m Air Rifle event provided India with two podium finishes, marking a strong beginning to the competition. Elavenil Valarivan earned a silver in the individual final, and alongside Sonam Uttam Maskar and Vidarsa Kochalumkal Vinod, they secured silver in the team event.
