President Murmu Emphasizes India's Innovation Potential
On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu expressed that India has the potential to become the world's leading force in grassroots innovation by leveraging its vast diversity and spirit of innovation. During a meeting with a group of grassroots innovators at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Center, she emphasized that social change cannot be achieved through ideas alone; it requires an environment that nurtures talent and provides the necessary platforms and resources.
Murmu highlighted that grassroots innovations are particularly suited to meet societal needs, as they incorporate local experiences, scientific reasoning, individual creativity, and a sense of social responsibility. She stated that India can harness its extensive diversity and innovative spirit to emerge as a global powerhouse in grassroots innovation. The dream of a 'developed India' will only be realized when every citizen engages in innovative thinking to solve problems.
The President expressed her delight at the collaboration among various institutions and citizens working together towards a common goal, which is strengthening the culture of innovation. She assured that such efforts would benefit all segments of society. Murmu acknowledged that many innovators have continued their endeavors despite limited resources, uncertainties, and recurring challenges.
She commended those who believe in innovation as a means to bring about positive changes in the lives of individuals, families, or communities. Murmu encouraged them to continuously improve their innovations, collaborate with research institutions, industries, and other innovators, and strive to scale their innovations. According to a statement from the President's office, Murmu also attended an exhibition organized by these innovators to observe their innovations.
