India's Women's 25m Pistol Team Finishes Fifth
On Monday, India secured fifth place in the women's 25m pistol team event at the Asian Games taking place in Aichi-Nagoya. The team, consisting of Esha Singh, Manu Bhaker, and Rahi Sarnobat, achieved a total score of 1727-56x. The gold medal was claimed by China with a score of 1743-68x, while South Korea and Chinese Taipei took home the silver and bronze medals, scoring 1735-65x and 1734-48x respectively.
Esha Singh's Individual Performance
In the individual women's 25m pistol final, Esha Singh finished eighth with a score of 580-22x, qualifying among the top eight shooters. Unfortunately, Manu Bhaker, a two-time Olympic medalist, did not qualify for the finals, finishing 11th with a score of 579-18x. Rahi Sarnobat placed 30th with a score of 568-16x.
Kurash: Pincky Balhara Secures a Medal
India celebrated its third medal in Kurash at the Asian Games when Pincky Balhara advanced to the women's 78 kg semifinals. She triumphed over South Korea's Lim Garam with a score of 3-0 in the quarterfinals, ensuring a medal for India. Balhara previously won a silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games but was eliminated in the quarterfinals during the 2022 edition.
Archery: Ganesh Advances to Quarterfinals
In men's compound archery, Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru narrowly defeated his fellow Indian Sahil Jadhav with a score of 149-148 in the round of 16, securing a spot in the quarterfinals. Earlier, Ganesh had won against Indonesia's Sostar Andaru Rinaldi with a score of 144-142 in the round of 32. He will face Chen Chieh-lun from Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals on October 1.

On Day 9, Sivaraj Babu exited the men's shortboard surfing competition after losing to the Philippines' Alciso Jayuard with a score of 7.83-11.50 in Round 3.
