India's NSA Ajit Doval Advocates Unified Global Stance Against Terrorism
Ajit Doval's Strong Message on Global Terrorism
Ajit Doval, India's National Security Advisor, has taken a firm stance in the global fight against terrorism. Speaking at an international security forum in Moscow, he emphasized that there should be no "double standards" in combating terrorism. He warned the global community that responsible nations must decide whether they support those who promote terrorism or take decisive action against it. The meeting, hosted by Sergey Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, was the 14th gathering of high representatives on security matters, where extensive discussions were held regarding the challenges and threats to international security in the context of a multipolar world.
Significance of the Meeting
The embassy noted in a post on X that the meeting was hosted by Sergey Shoigu. It highlighted that the forum engaged in comprehensive discussions about the challenges and threats to international security amid the emergence of a multipolar world. Doval reiterated that there can be no double standards in the fight against terrorism, urging responsible nations to evaluate their options and determine whether they support those who promote terrorism or confront them with decisive action. He also stressed the urgent need to reform the structures and institutions established after World War II in 1945 to effectively address contemporary international security threats.
Calls for Reform and Representation
Doval pointed out that these reforms should ensure greater representation for the Global South and prioritize their perspectives. Referring to the situation in West Asia, he emphasized the necessity of ensuring safe and uninterrupted trade through international waterways, including the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea. The embassy mentioned that Doval would also hold bilateral meetings on Thursday and Friday, although detailed information was not provided regarding these discussions. Additionally, he had a bilateral meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Shoigu, outside the forum.
India's Diplomatic Engagement Amid Ukraine Crisis
According to the embassy, during the meeting, both parties reviewed the current status of cooperation in defense, security, energy, and trade-economic relations. They also exchanged views on the preparations for the upcoming BRICS National Security Advisors meeting to be held in New Delhi. On Wednesday, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar met with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sibih in Cyprus, discussing the Russia-Ukraine conflict, developments on the battlefield, and efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive and lasting peace. India has consistently called for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the Ukraine conflict while maintaining close ties with both Russia and Ukraine.
India's Stance on the Ukraine Crisis
Maintaining close relations with both Russia and Ukraine, India has consistently reiterated that the resolution of the Ukraine crisis can only be achieved through dialogue and diplomacy, not through war.
