On Monday, President Droupadi Murmu extended her heartfelt congratulations to India's Junior Men's and Women's Hockey Teams for their remarkable achievements at the Asia Cup. She commended their commitment, discipline, and teamwork.


In a message shared on X, she stated, "Heartiest congratulations to our Junior Men’s and Women’s Hockey Teams on their outstanding victories in the Asia Cup. Their dedication, discipline, and teamwork have brought immense pride to the nation. It is heartening to see young players setting inspiring examples of channeling positive energy for excellence. Junior Women's Team Wins Third Consecutive Title

The Indian Junior Women’s Team triumphed at the AHF Junior Asia Cup 2026, defeating the host nation, China, with a narrow 1-0 victory in the final held on Sunday. Sanika Chandrakant Mane scored the decisive goal in the 17th minute, allowing the defending champions to secure their third consecutive title.


This victory also guarantees India's spot in the FIH Junior Women’s World Cup. In recognition of their success, Hockey India announced a reward of Rs 3 lakh for each player and Rs 1.5 lakh for every member of the support staff.


Men's Team Achieves Historic Sixth Title

The Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team claimed the championship at the 2026 Men’s Junior Asia Cup by defeating Korea 4-1 in the Gold Medal match in Moqi, China, on Sunday. This win marks a record sixth title for India in this tournament.
