Minister Emphasizes India's Progress in National Security

On Thursday, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai shed light on India's transformative journey towards enhancing national security and establishing a global identity. During a press conference at the Circuit House in Gaya, he announced that India has successfully eradicated Naxalism, marking a historic victory for internal security. Discussing the government's commitment to internal peace, Minister Rai stated that by April 2026, India will be completely free from Naxalism.

Rai attributed this achievement to the government's consistent 'zero-tolerance' strategy against extremism. He emphasized that the robust national security policy is backed by unprecedented investments in the country's military capabilities. The defense budget has surged from ₹2.5 lakh crore to ₹8 lakh crore, which has facilitated the modernization of the armed forces and promoted indigenous manufacturing of weapons, preparing the nation to tackle evolving global security challenges.

Highlighting India's growing influence on the international stage, Rai noted that the world now views India as a key decision-maker. He mentioned that international leaders are increasingly recognizing Prime Minister Modi's strong and decisive leadership. Just yesterday, U.S. President Trump remarked that 'Modi is strong,' underscoring that major global decisions are now being made with Modi's involvement and cooperation. Under Modi's leadership, India has established a formidable identity globally, with policies focused on the welfare and empowerment of the poor, farmers, youth, and women.

Rai pointed out that the past 12 years have been transformative for India. He credited the mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas' for firmly positioning India among the world's leading economic powers. He acknowledged the current government's efforts in securing the nation's borders and strengthening the economy, noting that technology has reached every corner of the country. He also highlighted the success of the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana' in providing permanent housing to millions and the distribution of free rations to over 80 crore citizens.

Initiatives such as the Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and 'Har Ghar Jal' mission have played a crucial role in improving the living standards of ordinary citizens. The minister mentioned the historic increase in the agricultural budget and the provision of affordable fertilizers. He specifically noted Bihar's achievements, including the establishment of the National Makhana Board, the GI tag for Mithila Makhana, and the elevation of Pusa Agricultural University to Central University status.
