India's External Affairs Minister Discusses Iran's Situation Amid Rising Tensions
Discussion on Iran's Changing Landscape
On Wednesday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar engaged in a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, focusing on the evolving circumstances in Iran and its neighboring regions. This dialogue comes at a time when concerns regarding potential U.S. military intervention are escalating.
Following the discussion, Jaishankar took to the social media platform 'X' to share, “I received a call from Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. We talked about the changing situation in Iran and its surroundings.”
This conversation coincided with India's advisory urging all its citizens residing in Iran to leave the country using available means.
Currently, Iran is witnessing widespread anti-government protests, which have resulted in over 2,500 fatalities. The situation has intensified further after U.S. President Donald Trump hinted at possible military action if Tehran continues its crackdown on demonstrators.
