In the 10m air rifle mixed team final at the Asian Games 2026, India's Elavenil Valarivan and Parth Mane secured a fourth-place finish, narrowly missing out on a medal with a total score of 376.3 points on Tuesday.

The Indian duo began the final in fourth position, accumulating 103.6 points from their initial 10 shots. China was in the lead with 107.2 points, followed by South Korea at 104.9 and Japan at 103.9.

After 20 shots, Elavenil and Parth maintained their fourth place with a score of 207.9 points, trailing South Korea by just 1.3 points, while China continued to dominate with 211.9 points.

Their standing remained unchanged after the third series, where they scored 312.3 points, still in fourth place. China led with 315.7 points, followed closely by Japan at 314.9 and South Korea at 314.3.

Ultimately, Elavenil and Parth were eliminated, finishing fourth with 376.3 points.

Earlier, the Indian pair had performed well in the qualification round, finishing second with a score of 634.9 points, while China set a world record with 638.9 points.

Sepak Takraw Results

In another event, India faced a setback in the men's team regu Group B competition in sepak takraw, suffering a 0-3 loss to Malaysia.

The Indian team lost their final match against Malaysia with scores of 11-15 and 5-15, resulting in Malaysia winning the overall three-match contest 3-0. Earlier, India had also lost to Japan and still has a match against the Philippines, making their path to progression from Group B challenging.

Swimming Update

In swimming, India's men's 4x100m medley relay team, consisting of Rishabh Das, Akash Mani, Benediction Beniston, and Dhanush Suresh, finished fourth in their heat, qualifying for the final. They advanced as the seventh-best team overall and will compete in the final later on Tuesday.

Other Sports Highlights

In kabaddi, India triumphed over South Korea with a score of 63-31 in Group A. In soft tennis, Jay Meena secured a victory against Pakistan's Hussain Arain with a score of 4-0 in men's singles, while Aadhya Tiwari lost 1-4 to Thailand's Alisha Ziegler in women's singles.

In wushu, Langlentombi Devi Hanjabam finished ninth in the women's Nanquan final. Fencers Sachin and Hemash Singh ended up fourth in their respective pools in men's individual foil. Aryan Nehra placed fourth in the men's 1500m freestyle B final, and Chetan Bhatt lost in the men's 84kg kumite bronze medal match.
