Successful Test of New Anti-Tank Guided Missile


New Delhi: A new variant of a man-portable anti-tank guided missile was successfully tested at a firing range located in Ahilya Nagar, Maharashtra.


According to the defence ministry, this weapon system features a "top attack capability" and was evaluated against a moving target.




The ministry confirmed that the third-generation fire-and-forget man-portable anti-tank guided missile (MPATGM) was successfully flight-tested against a moving target at KK Ranges in Ahilya Nagar.


This test was conducted by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on a Sunday.


The missile's warhead is designed to defeat contemporary main battle tanks, as stated by the ministry.


It can be launched from either a tripod or a military vehicle launcher.
