Successful Conclusion of Deaf Cricket Series

The Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) has proudly announced the successful completion of a thrilling 2-ODI and 3-T20I Deaf Cricket Series against South Africa. This event took place at the Sinoville Cricket Club in Pretoria from April 25 to May 2, 2026. The Indian team showcased exceptional talent, achieving a clean sweep by winning all three T20I matches and both ODIs.


Celebrating Sportsmanship

The closing ceremony was graced by IDCA partners, board members, and the teams involved, marking the conclusion of a highly competitive and inspiring tournament. This series not only highlighted sporting excellence but also emphasized inclusivity and international camaraderie. A memorable moment occurred when Captain Virender Singh and IDCA President Sumit Jain presented Banu Prakash, the Acting High Commissioner, with a signed jersey and cap, symbolizing respect and unity.


IDCA Leadership Reflects on the Victory

Sumit Jain, President of IDCA, expressed pride in the team's preparation and enthusiasm for the championship. He stated, "Our players were eager to demonstrate their skills and compete for the title. Their outstanding performance reflects their dedication to bringing the trophy home to India. I extend my gratitude to all who supported us, especially our principal partner, Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla, Chairman of Serum Institute of India, along with KFC India, Hero MotoCorp, Steel Authority of India Limited, and others for their invaluable support."


Strengthening International Relations

Roma Balwani, CEO of IDCA, noted that hosting the series in Pretoria enhances the bond between India and South Africa while promoting deaf cricket as a competitive sport. She emphasized that events like this foster connections and celebrate shared values beyond just the game.


Acknowledgments

The IDCA also expressed appreciation to Jay Shah, Chairman of the ICC and BCCI, for his support of disability cricket initiatives. The IDCA, backed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and recognized by the Deaf International Cricket Council and Asian Deaf Cricket Association, successfully organized this championship.
