India's Boxing Team Prepares for Asian Championships
The Indian boxing team is ready to kick off its journey in the Asian Boxing Championships 2026, which is set to commence tomorrow. The draw has revealed crucial opening matches and byes across various weight categories. In the women's section, Preeti Pawar will compete against Elina Bazarova from Kazakhstan in the 54 kg category, while Priya is scheduled to face Rimma Volossenko, also from Kazakhstan, in the 60 kg category. Additionally, Minakshi will take on Japan's Yuka Sadamatsu, and Pooja Rani will battle Kazakhstan's Nadezhda Ryabets. Notably, Nikhat Zareen, Jaismine Lamboria, Ankushita Boro, Arundhati Choudhary, Lovlina Borgohain, and Alfiya Patahan have advanced without a fight due to byes.
