India's Diplomatic Mission Against Terrorism
New Delhi: In response to the recent Pahalgam terror incident and Operation Sindoor, the Indian government is dispatching seven all-party delegations to significant partner nations, including members of the UN Security Council, later this month to emphasize its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.
A statement from the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry released on Saturday highlighted that these delegations aim to showcase India's unified stance and determined strategy in fighting terrorism in all its forms. They will communicate the nation's strong message of zero tolerance to the global community.
The leaders chosen to represent the delegations have been carefully selected from various political backgrounds, ensuring they are articulate and capable of conveying India's message effectively.
Delegation leaders include BJP MPs Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, JD (U) MP Sanjay Jha, DMK's Kanimozhi, NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule, and Shiv Sena's Shrikant Shinde.
Among these leaders, four belong to the ruling National Democratic Alliance, while three represent the opposition INDIA bloc.
Each delegation is expected to visit approximately five countries, according to sources.
The ministry's announcement also mentioned that distinguished diplomats would accompany each delegation.
"In light of Operation Sindoor and India's ongoing battle against cross-border terrorism, seven all-party delegations will visit key partner nations, including UN Security Council members later this month," the statement noted.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju shared on X, "In crucial moments, Bharat stands united. Seven All-Party Delegations will soon visit key partner nations, delivering our collective message of zero tolerance towards terrorism."
