Sitanshu Kotak, the batting coach for India, expressed his satisfaction with the team's display during their warm-up match against Sri Lanka. He characterized the encounter as a highly effective preparation ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series, which kicks off on August 15. He remarked, "The practice match was very beneficial; I doubt we could replicate this intensity in four more days of practice. The bowlers were impressive, and we ensured that everyone, including the bowlers, had ample batting opportunities to meet their requirements."

Kotak acknowledged the all-round contributions of various players, particularly praising Gurnoor Singh and Mohammed Siraj for their explosive hitting. He noted, "Gurnoor and Siraj were exceptional, hitting three to four sixes each." Additionally, he commended Devdutt Padikkal's batting and the efforts of India's fast bowlers, who performed admirably despite challenging pitch conditions. "Devdutt's innings was outstanding, and our pacers worked hard on a wicket that offered little assistance," he added.
