A formidable 60-member squad representing India is ready to compete in the 2026 U15 and U20 Asian Wrestling Championships. This prestigious event is scheduled to occur in Pattaya, Thailand, from June 27 to July 5, showcasing competitions in Men's Freestyle, Greco-Roman, and Women's Wrestling, as announced by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).
Tournament Significance
The WFI has meticulously selected a team that aims to make a significant impact. The U15 wrestlers will commence their journey on June 27, marking their first major international experience, while the U20 category will follow suit starting June 30.
WFI President's Optimism
Sanjay Kumar Singh, the President of WFI, expressed confidence in the team's potential. "This tournament is vital for us, and we are sending a robust group of wrestlers to Pattaya. Our squad of 60 athletes has shown exceptional dedication during domestic trials. Athletes like Mansi and Neeraj are well-acquainted with the demands of this level. For the U15 competitors, gaining international exposure is crucial. We fully support them and anticipate a strong medal performance from this group," he stated.
