Indian Worker Killed in Attack on Kuwaiti Desalination Plant
Tragic Incident at Kuwaiti Facility
A tragic incident occurred at a power and water desalination facility in Kuwait, resulting in the death of an Indian worker, as reported by the Ministry of Electricity and Water. The ministry indicated that the worker's death was due to what they termed an Iranian attack on the plant, which also sustained damage to a service building.
In response to the incident, emergency and technical teams were promptly deployed to manage the situation and ensure that operations could resume as usual. The ministry also mentioned that they are collaborating with security agencies and other relevant organizations to secure the affected area.
This incident follows a report from the Kuwaiti military, which stated that ten soldiers were injured in a recent series of attacks. The military confirmed that the injured personnel are currently receiving medical care. In a statement shared on social media, the military noted that they had intercepted 14 ballistic missiles and 12 drones, some of which targeted a military installation, leading to the injuries. Additionally, logistics warehouses were struck, resulting in material damage but no further casualties.
According to the Kuwaiti armed forces, the recent attacks have increased the total number of projectiles detected since February 28 to 307 ballistic missiles, 616 drones, and two cruise missiles. The military has reiterated its commitment to protecting the nation and ensuring stability and security. The region has been on high alert following the air offensive launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28, which prompted Iran to retaliate with missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and other nations, including Jordan and Iraq, as well as Gulf states hosting US military forces. This ongoing conflict has led to casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
