Indian Women's Squash Team Triumphs
The Indian women's squash team achieved a significant milestone at the Asian Games 2026 by securing a medal after a 2-0 victory against Singapore in the quarterfinals on Tuesday. The identity of their semifinal opponent is still to be determined.
India's success was marked by strong performances from Tanvi Khanna and Anahat Singh, who won the first two singles matches, ensuring the team's podium finish. Tanvi Khanna initiated the winning streak by overcoming Wai Iynn Au Yeong with a score of 3-1 in a challenging match. The game unfolded with scores of 11-6, 5-11, 15-13, and 11-1, showcasing her resilience after losing the second game.
Following Tanvi's lead, Anahat Singh secured the team's victory with a commanding 3-0 win against Wai Yhann Au Yeong, finishing the match with scores of 11-7, 11-3, and 11-4, thus propelling India into the semifinals.

India has showcased remarkable achievements across various sports at the Asian Games 2026. The women's compound archery team secured a gold medal by defeating China with a score of 238-234 in the final. Prior to this, the Indian trio had edged past South Korea 234-233 in the semifinals to reach the championship match.
In addition to squash, Pradhyumna Singh Rathod made it to the men's kayak single final in canoe slalom after qualifying for the medal round. Cyclists Sarita Kumari and Keerthy Rangaswamy Chikka advanced to the repechage round in the women's keirin heats, while Ronaldo Singh and David Beckham finished 15th and 14th respectively in the men's sprint qualification, moving on to the Round of 16.
In sepaktakraw, the men's team achieved a 2-0 victory over Laos in the quadrant group stage, although the women's team faced a setback with a 0-2 loss to Vietnam in their Group A match.
In wrestling, Nisha Dahiya was unfortunately eliminated after losing her bout in the women's freestyle 68kg round of 16.
