East Bengal FC Triumphs Over Gokulam Kerala
In a thrilling match at the East Bengal Ground, East Bengal FC continued their impressive form in the Indian Women's League 2025-26, defeating Gokulam Kerala FC 2-1. The match kicked off with an early goal from Fazila Ikwaput in the sixth minute, who skillfully volleyed a long ball over the advancing goalkeeper from outside the box.
East Bengal dominated possession throughout the first half, controlling the game's pace, while Gokulam Kerala struggled to create significant chances before halftime.
The second goal for East Bengal came in the 65th minute when Resty Nanziri assisted Ikwaput, who finished accurately into the bottom corner. Gokulam Kerala managed to score in the 70th minute through Shubhangi Singh, who capitalized on a mistake by East Bengal's goalkeeper Elangbam Chanu. Despite late attempts from both teams, East Bengal secured the victory.
With this win, East Bengal FC remains unbeaten at the top of the table with 27 points, while Gokulam Kerala sits fifth with 10 points.
SETHU FC Claims Victory Against Sribhumi FC
SETHU FC also enjoyed success, winning 2-1 against Sribhumi FC at the East Bengal Ground. The match began with Sumati Kumari scoring the opening goal in the 12th minute, heading in a long ball delivered by Nirmala Devi.
Despite efforts from Sribhumi to equalize, SETHU's defense held firm. The lead was extended when S Lynda Kom capitalized on a blocked shot by the goalkeeper to score.
Sribhumi FC managed to reduce the deficit in the 38th minute with a penalty converted by Philomena Abakah after Veronica Appiah was fouled in the box. Both teams had opportunities in the second half, but SETHU maintained their lead.
Currently, SETHU FC ranks second with 19 points from nine matches, while Sribhumi FC is fourth with 10 points.
Kickstart FC Dominates SESA Football Academy
Kickstart FC Karnataka achieved a convincing 3-0 victory over SESA Football Academy at the AIFF National Centre of Excellence. The scoring began in the 16th minute when Emem Peace Essien finished from close range after a well-placed cross from Kiran Pisda.
The lead was doubled in the 27th minute when Saru Limbu scored after receiving a pass from Pisda. In the 66th minute, a foul on Essien inside the box led to a penalty, which Babysana Devi successfully converted.
This win elevates Kickstart FC to sixth place with 10 points from nine matches, while SESA Football Academy remains at the bottom with just one point.
Nita FA and Garhwal United End in Draw
In another match, Nita Football Academy and Garhwal United FC played to a goalless draw at the AIFF National Centre of Excellence. Both teams fought hard but failed to score, resulting in a shared point.
Nita FA currently holds third place in the standings with 15 points, while Garhwal United FC is seventh with eight points.
