Indian Women Wrestlers Dominate at Under-15 Asian Championships
Outstanding Performance by Indian Women Wrestlers
On Sunday, Indian women wrestlers showcased their exceptional skills, securing three gold medals and contributing to a total of eight medals on the second day of the Under-15 Asian Wrestling Championships. Samruddhi Satish Patil (33kg), Vinakshi (46kg), and Disha Shokeen (66kg) were the stars of the day, each winning gold in their respective weight classes.

In addition to the three golds, India also earned two silver and three bronze medals, achieving a perfect podium finish in all eight medal matches held that day. The Indian Under-15 Greco-Roman team secured third place in the overall standings with 150 points, while Uzbekistan topped the chart with 171 points, followed closely by Kazakhstan with 167 points.
Highlights from the Finals
In the women's finals, Disha Shokeen dominated the 66kg category, winning decisively with an 11-0 score against Japan's Nowa Doike. Samruddhi Patil triumphed over Uzbekistan's Madina Nosirova with an 8-2 victory in the 33kg final, while Vinakshi defeated Muslima Hojimamatova from Uzbekistan 7-4 in the 46kg final.
Silver and Bronze Medalists
Divya Rani (36kg) and Dnyaneshwari Vrusheshwar Shinde (42kg) earned silver medals after facing tough competition from Japanese wrestlers. Rani lost 2-6 to Sara Kori, and Shinde narrowly fell 7-9 to Ramu Sugibayashi. The Indian team also excelled in the bronze medal matches, with Nisha Mor (54kg) winning by fall against Lo I Huang from Chinese Taipei, Dipanshi (58kg) defeating Mongolia's Anudari Bayanmunkh 6-1, and Anjali Santosh Vetal (62kg) overpowering Mongolia's Khongorzul Lkhagva Ochir with a score of 15-2.
