Indian Team's England Tour and Under-19 Matches
The Indian cricket team is currently on a tour of England, where they are set to compete in a five-match Test series. Concurrently, the Indian Under-19 team will also showcase their skills. Led by Ayush Mhatre, who impressed during the IPL, the Under-19 squad will play a warm-up match of 50 overs against England from June 24 to July 23, along with five youth ODIs and two multi-day matches.
Before this tour, the Junior Cricket Committee made changes to the team, replacing Aditya Rana and Khilan Patel with D Deepesh and Naman Pushpak. Both Deepesh and Naman were on the standby list for this tour. The BCCI reported that Aditya has suffered a stress fracture in his lower back, while Khilan is dealing with a stress reaction in his right foot, which occurred during a high-performance camp at the BCCI Centre.
Ayush Mhatre has been appointed captain for this series following his outstanding performance for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025. After remaining unsold in the mega auction, he was selected to replace the injured captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. With one match left against GT, Mhatre has emerged as CSK's third-highest run-scorer, accumulating 206 runs at an average of 34.33 over six innings.
