Indian Squash Duo Reaches Semifinals at Asian Games, Secures Medal
Squash Success at the Asian Games
Indian squash athletes Joshna Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar have successfully advanced to the semifinals in the mixed doubles category at the Asian Games, guaranteeing India at least a bronze medal. The duo triumphed over their Filipino rivals with scores of 11-3 and 11-5 in the quarterfinals, securing their spot in the final four.
For the 40-year-old Chinappa, this achievement marks a significant milestone, coming 16 years after her initial medal at the Asian Games. She has now added another accolade to her impressive continental achievements alongside Senthilkumar.
In the semifinals scheduled for Saturday, Chinappa and Senthilkumar will compete against Hong Kong's Lee Ka Yi and Tang Ming Hong, aiming to continue their successful run and reach the finals.
This victory contributes to India's overall squash performance at the Asian Games, showcasing Chinappa's seasoned expertise and Senthilkumar's commendable skills.
