On Tuesday, President Droupadi Murmu extended her congratulations to Indian shooters Neeru Dhanda, Aashima Ahlawat, and Manisha Keer for their impressive silver medal win in the women's trap team event at the Asian Games 2026 held in Japan.

Performance Highlights and Medal Count

The Indian team achieved a total score of 328 points, earning them the silver medal, finishing three points ahead of Kuwait, who secured bronze with 325 points. China took home the gold with a score of 346. Neeru Dhanda stood out as India's leading performer, scoring 118 out of 125, while Aashima and Manisha contributed scores of 106 and 104, respectively. Neeru also tied for the top position in the individual qualifying round alongside Qatar's Ray Bassil and is set to compete in the individual final later today.

This silver medal contributes to India's overall medal tally at the Asian Games, where the nation currently ranks 12th with a total of 46 medals, comprising four gold, 21 silver, and 21 bronze.

Day 10 Results Overview

India also advanced to the quarterfinals in the women's squash team event after a decisive 3-0 victory against Iran in their final group match.

Archery Achievements

In archery, Indian competitors Dhiraj Bommadevara and Neeraj Chauhan progressed to the men's recurve individual quarterfinals. Dhiraj triumphed over Cheng Hsiang-Hui from Chinese Taipei with a score of 6-2, while Neeraj defeated South Korea's Olympic medalist Kim Je-deok 6-4.

Surfing and Men's Trap Updates

India's surfing journey concluded when Kishore Kumar Anbarasu lost in the men's shortboard quarterfinal with a score of 5.37-8.53 against the Philippines' Toby Espejon.

In the men's trap event, the team comprising Shapath Bharadwaj, Kynan Chenai, and Ahvar Rizvi finished sixth in the team final, with Shapath qualifying for the individual final.

Canoe Slalom Progress

The Indian team also made strides in canoe slalom, with Shikha Chouhan, Hitesh Kewat, Pradhyumna Singh Rathod, Pallavi Jagtap, and Rina Sen advancing to their respective semi-finals.
