Robust Defense Along the India-Pakistan Border

Indian security forces maintain a vigilant presence along the border with Pakistan, effectively countering any hostile actions from the neighboring country. During Operation Sindoor, Pakistan launched missiles and deployed 200 drones towards Gujarat; however, no damage was inflicted on military installations, soldiers, or civilians, thanks to the proactive measures taken by Indian forces. This information was shared by a senior officer from the Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday.

BSF's Strategic Response

Abhishek Pathak, the Inspector General of the BSF's Gujarat Frontier, reported that Pakistan had also stationed tanks and heavy artillery along the border. He emphasized that a thorough analysis is underway to enhance future responses. The BSF is responsible for securing the India-Pakistan border from Barmer in Rajasthan to the Kutch district in Gujarat.

Details of Operation Sindoor

Addressing a press conference in Gandhinagar regarding the BSF's role during Operation Sindoor, Pathak noted that approximately 600 drones were sent by Pakistan towards the border, with around 40% (200 drones) entering Gujarat. However, with the assistance of the Indian Army and Air Force, the attacks were successfully neutralized, resulting in no casualties among our forces or civilians. Some of these drones were shot down.

Terrorist Attack in Pahalgam

In a separate incident, a terrorist attack occurred near Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, 2025, where five armed terrorists targeted tourists, leading to the deaths of 26 civilians. The attackers primarily aimed at Hindu tourists, but a Christian tourist and a local Muslim were also among the casualties.
