Enhancing Travel Experience with Local Flavors

Indian Railways has launched a new initiative to serve regional dishes on Vande Bharat trains, aiming to enrich the travel experience by offering culturally relevant meals and authentic local flavors. According to an official statement from the Ministry of Railways, this initiative allows passengers to savor the diverse culinary heritage of India while comfortably seated on their train journeys.


 


Passengers traveling on the 20101/20102 Nagpur-Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express can enjoy local specialties such as Maharashtra's Kanda Poha, South India's Dondakaya Karam Poddi Fry, and Andhra Pradesh's Andhra Kodi Kura. The 20901 MMCT-GNC Vande Bharat Express features Gujarati dishes like Methi Thepla, while the 26902 SBI-BVRL Vande Bharat Express serves Masala Lauki. Additionally, Odisha's Aloo Phulkopi is available on the 22895 Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express.




Traditional Kerala cuisine, including White Rice, Pachakka Cherupayar Mezhukkupuratti, Kadala Curry, Kerala Paratha, Plain Curd, and Appam with Palada Payasam, can be found on the 20633/34 Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express and the 20631/32 Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express. West Bengal's Kosha Paneer is served on the 20872 ROU-HWH Vande Bharat Express, along with Aloo Potol Bhaja on the 22895 HWH-Puri Vande Bharat Express. Bihar's unique dishes, such as Champaran Paneer, are available on the 22349 PNB-E-RNC Vande Bharat Express, while Champaran Chicken can be found on the 22348 PNB-E-HWH Vande Bharat Express.


 


Dogri dishes, including Amble Kaddu and Jammu Chana Masala, are offered on trains 26401-02 and 26403-04, while Kashmiri specialties like Tamatar Chaman and Kesar Phirni are served on the 26401/02 and 26403/04 SVDK-Sina Vande Bharat Express. Maharashtra's Masala Upma is available on the 22229 CSMT-MAO Vande Bharat Express, and West Bengal's Murgir Jhol is served on the 22302 NJP-HWH Vande Bharat Express.
