The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially unveiled a significant recruitment drive for 6,180 Technician positions across various zones of Indian Railways for the 2025-26 cycle. A brief notification was released in the Employment News on June 16, with a comprehensive advertisement (CEN 02/2025) anticipated to be published on June 27. The online application process is set to commence on June 28 and will conclude on July 28 at 11:59 PM.
Key Details of the Recruitment
Among the 6,180 vacancies, 180 are designated for Technician Grade 1 Signal, while the remaining 6,000 are for Technician Grade 3 roles. The selection procedure for both categories will include a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by Document Verification and a medical fitness assessment.

Eligibility Criteria
Technician Grade 1 Signal: Candidates should hold a BSc in Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, IT, or Instrumentation, or possess a relevant Engineering Diploma or Degree.
Technician Grade 3: Applicants must have completed Class 10 (SSLC Matriculation) along with an ITI or Apprenticeship in trades such as Foundry-man, Moulder, Pattern Maker, or Forger and Heat Treater.
Age Requirements (As of July 1, 2025)
For Grade 1 Signal, the age limit is set between 18 to 33 years, while for Grade 3, it is 18 to 30 years. Relaxations for reserved categories will follow government regulations.
Application Fee Details
Rs 250: Applicable for SC/ST, Ex-servicemen, PwD, Women, Transgender individuals, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes (fully refundable upon appearing for CBT).
Rs 500: For all other categories, Rs 400 will be fully refundable upon appearing for CBT.
Salary and Pay Scale
Technician Grade 1 Signal: Pay Level 5, with an initial monthly salary of Rs 29,200.
Technician Grade 3: Pay Level 2, with an initial monthly salary of Rs 19,900. Additional allowances and benefits will be provided as per the current 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).
