The Indian team kicked off their campaign at the ITF W35 Kalaburagi with impressive performances on Sunday at the Chandrashekhar Patil Stadium. A total of 12 Indian players advanced to the second and final qualifying round, showcasing the strength and competitiveness of the local talent in North Karnataka.

While some international seeds progressed without much difficulty, the focus remained on the Indian players who rose to the challenge. Notably, 11th seed Vanshita Pathania triumphed over Arunkumar Lakshmi Prabha with a score of 6-3, 6-1. Meanwhile, top seed Maria Mikhailova eliminated Chandana Potugari with a decisive 6-2, 6-1 victory, and second seed Eva Marie Desvignes from Singapore comfortably defeated wildcard Omna Yadav Davunaboina 6-1, 6-3.
