Indian Navy Clerk Arrested for Espionage Linked to Pakistani Intelligence

Arrest of Navy Clerk for Espionage Activities
The Rajasthan police's intelligence unit has apprehended a clerk from the Indian Navy's headquarters in New Delhi on charges of espionage for a Pakistani intelligence agency. This information was disclosed by a senior official on Wednesday.
According to Vishnu Kant Gupta, Inspector General (CID-Security), the clerk, identified as Vishal Yadav, was arrested on June 25 under the Official Secrets Act of 1923. He hails from Rewari in Haryana.
Gupta noted that the Rajasthan police's CID-Intelligence has been closely monitoring espionage activities conducted by Pakistani intelligence agencies.
He stated, "It has come to light that Vishal Yadav, who works at the Directorate of Dockyard in the Navy Building in Delhi, was in constant contact with a female handler from the Pakistani intelligence agency through social media. This woman, reportedly using the alias Priya Sharma, was enticing Vishal with money to extract sensitive information of strategic importance from the Navy Building."
Gupta further revealed, "Initial inquiries indicated that Vishal Yadav was addicted to online gaming and began providing sensitive information to the Pakistani female handler to meet his financial needs. He was receiving funds in his cryptocurrency trading account in 'USDT' and directly into his bank accounts."
He added, "Chats and documents retrieved from the suspect's mobile indicate that Vishal had also provided Navy and other defense-related confidential information to the Pakistani woman during the 'Operation Sindoor' campaign."
Various intelligence agencies are currently conducting joint interrogations of Vishal at the Central Interrogation Center in Jaipur.
