The embassy conveyed its condolences via a social media update, confirming that they are in communication with the deceased's family and local authorities regarding the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear.

This incident marks the sixth Indian casualty linked to the ongoing conflict.

On March 14, the Indian government reported that five Indians had lost their lives, with one individual still unaccounted for.

Indian diplomatic missions in Oman, Iraq, and the UAE are actively coordinating with local authorities to locate the missing person and facilitate the repatriation of the deceased.

Earlier, on March 2, the Directorate General of Shipping announced that three Indian seafarers had been killed and one injured during the conflict, although specific details regarding these incidents were not disclosed.

Additionally, two Indians were reported dead following a drone strike in Oman’s Sohar province on March 13.

The conflict in West Asia escalated on February 28, when the United States and Israel initiated an attack on Iran, prompting Tehran to retaliate with missile and drone strikes targeting various locations in the Gulf, including US military bases and major urban centers.

Israel has expressed concerns that Iran is nearing the capability to develop a nuclear weapon, which could significantly disrupt the regional security landscape. Iran, however, insists that its nuclear ambitions are solely for peaceful purposes.
